Caroline Rufo creates paintings, installations and performances. Her painting practice is informed by her work in other media. Ms. Rufo is process-oriented, and research-driven, often working and reworking ideas in a variety of media. History and philosophy are important influences in her work. Current themes in her paintings include using light and shadow as a metaphor for cultural projections; and using abstraction to create a meditative space.
